Project-Wide High-Level Synthesis

REgional Carbon Cycle Assessment and Processes (RECCAP)

  • The GCP will undertake a major new assessment (2008-2009) on the carbon balance of large regions of the globe at the scale of continents and large ocean basins, including their component fluxes, using a combination of bottom up data and models from regional carbon cycle programs and global analyses. Bioenergy and Earth Sustainability

  • The Bioenergy and Earth System Sustainability Meeting was held 19-22 July 2008, Piracicaba, Brazil. Meeting homepage.

Synthesis of the Global Carbon Cycle

  • The GCP delivers high-level state-of-the-art synthesis on the integrated view of the carbon–climate–human system and specific components of it. A global synthesis will take place every four years. The first of such synthesis was produced as a collaborative effort between the Scientific Committee on Problems of the Environment (SCOPE) and the GCP and published in 2004.
